I went to the Back to the 50′s car show today and took my 7D with me. Its the first time I have had the opportunity to shoot auto pics with my new camera. I focused mostly on details. Lots of emblems, engines, chrome, and parts. Some of these I plan on printing large, framing and them making available for sale. I know as a car lover that a lot of these shots would be something cool that you could hang in your garage or game room. If your interested in prints let me know I will probably have a shot of your favorite car. These few shots are just some samples see the rest here.
Last night was a long one. I completed the first part of UDVZ for class this morning and I am pretty pleased with the results thus far. I have some more tweaking to do to the audio for these sections and will revisit a few of the shots as well as add a few. It was a lot of work in the last week and a half but I managed to crank out two minutes of animation. Now I’m off to pay attention to my life for a while and then ultimately get back at it. I’ll be posting more updates and renders soon. I am particularly interested in playing around with shatter some more and creating some more shots with gore. Cause you know… Gore is fun. Even if it takes HOURS! Check it out in HD on vimeo.
So I thought I would look back and reflect shortly on my experience in my Interactive Visual Design class. This was one of those classes that I tried to pass out of. Let me say that I am glad that I took the class. It was a blast learning more about DVD Studio Pro not to mention cranking out a pretty cool DVD. Ben told me that I would come out of the class with a cool DVD and a portfolio web site and that is exactly what happened.
This being my second quarter back in Ai I am very pleased with the in class experience that I felt I was missing when taking classes online. Critiques in class were GREAT and really helped me brain storm and fine tune my work. Thank you everyone for the feedback on my work in class. It is appreciated.
Moving forward I plan to keep up on the blog and use it to my benefit. At some point I will get my act together and actually buy a domain and get all the P’s and Q’s squared away. Finally I want to thank you Ben for pushing me to take the class. I learned a great deal.
Well I spent the majority of the last two days working like a mad dog on my Sound Production final. I was working on it and I remember… Logos for IVD! Oh crap. Well I took my light theme and tried a couple of more simple designs and here they are. I’m still playing with the idea and will probably crank these out in 3Ds Max to give them some real punch. There are three variations with different layouts. Hope you enjoy!

So its been more than a week since I have updated. So here goes… I have been spending a lot of time working on an animatic for my Audio Production class which I will be creating a post on soon. As for IVD I have been designing my brand logos in my head during RAM previews and down time.
Below are a couple of renders that I created in After Effects to aid me in my final design. I really want to incorporate light and shadow into my design and these renders show the kind of shadow and light look I will be going for.
So now that I have a good idea where I want to go with my final logo design all I have to do is execute it. The final designs will be coming in the next day or so.
I wanted to thank Bri and her family for hiring me to shoot their 2010 family photos. We shot outdoors on a beautiful summer afternoon. Shade worked to my advantage on this shoot. The sun was directly overhead and would not have lent itself well to making Bri and her family look good or feel comfortable. So we shot under a nice shady tree. Here are a few samples.
So the first week of blogging on word press has been interesting to say the least. To be blunt, I feel like a total noob. Before last week I had no idea to how to post anything, and I mean ANYTHING, to the internet. Presently I have posted some photos but I am still trying to figure out the hierarchy of wordpress and I feel like a little kid wandering the supermarket looking for his mommy.
Overall the experience so far has been positive but I am finding that building the monstrosity that is my first portfolio will be a long road. So stay tuned for more rantings about my blogging experience.
